Biography
Rachelle is a Senior Learning Designer at the Durham Centre for Academic Development and has worked at the University since 2020. Her areas of expertise are pedagogic design for online and blended learning and using digital games and playfulness as pedagogic practices.
Rachelle holds a BA (Hons) and Cert HE from University of Central Lancashire and an MSc in Digital Education from Univiersity of Edinburgh. She is a Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology and has a Senior Fellowship of the HEA. She was awarded a Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) for her work with the #creativeHE community in 2022 and a became a National Teaching Fellow in 2023 for her work on inclusivity and playfulness in Higher Education.
Rachelle is currently a part time PhD student in Computer Science at Northrumbria University in Newcastle and her research interests include digital games, escape rooms and surprise.
