Biography

Siyu Zhang is a doctoral researcher in Social Psychology who began her studies in 2025. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Harbin Medical University and a master’s degree in Psychology from Hangzhou Normal University.

Her research examines how social psychological mechanisms shape classroom learning, with a particular focus on stereotype threat among underrepresented groups. Using a cross-cultural and interdisciplinary approach, her work combines field studies with wireless sensors to capture students’ physiological and vocal responses in real classroom settings. Through this research, she aims to better understand when and why stereotype threat most strongly affects students, and how its impact can be effectively reduced.

Siyu is originally from Chongqing, a mountainous city in southwest China. Outside her academic work, she enjoys cycling, swimming, and hiking, and is always happy to engage in friendly conversations and collaborations.
