Biography

I am an ESRC-funded PhD student whose research investigates how categorisations of race and ethnicity are constructed in public health campaigns. My wider engagements with health discourses have also explored issues around reproductive justice and contraception.

My PhD research focuses on approaches to increase organ donor participation in the UK, where increasing the number of minoritised ethnic organ donors is positioned as the solution to an issue of ethnic inequalities in transplantation procedures. This project examines the narratives mobilised by these strategies to consider the intersections of ethnic identity, community, and relations of care.
