Tuition Fees and Charges

1. Direct Debit

Direct debit is the University's preferred payment method. This is an automatic process saving time and expense.

You need to have a UK bank account to set up a direct debit mandate.

Overseas Students will find that most UK banks offer a simple account that can pay direct debits.

Direct Debit mandates must be set up at least 14 days in advance of the expected collection date.

Your Direct Debit mandate can be set up in one of the following ways:

Online www.dur.ac.uk/direct.debits/ . You will need the student ID number and date of birth to access this secure web page.
On paper - please request a paper mandate form from studentbilling.query@durham.ac.uk

2. International Bank Transfer or International Card for Overseas Students -Flywire

Not all overseas students can set up a UK bank account to operate direct debits and we have an additional method for transferring funds from an overseas bank account:

4. Recurring Card Arrangement by Debit/Credit Card

Please contact the team on one of the numbers below if you wish to set up a recurring card arrangement to schedule collection of you termly or monthly instalments. Please do not use these numbers for one off payments.

Once an arrangement has been set up you will receive an email showing the schedule of payments. You will receive an email after each attempt to collect a payment to advise if it was successful or unsuccessful.

5. One time Card Payment

If you wish to make a one off payment then simply email finance.cashiers@durham.ac.uk with your student ID number number saying how much you wish to pay. The staff will partially complete a web form and send a link to you for you to enter the card details. The advantages to this method are:
