We are delighted to be offering a range of new International Scholarships to students from Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Vietnam, looking to start their undergraduate or taught postgraduate studies in 2025/26.
The scholarship will consist of a £5,000 per year tuition fee discount.
Scholarships are available for programmes commencing in 2025.
Please note that scholarships (tuition fee discounts) are not transferable and not deferrable. They are valid only for use by scholarship winners in the academic year for which the scholarship has been awarded. Applicants who choose to defer entry will be considered for scholarships available in the year of entry. Acceptance of a scholarship before deferral does not guarantee a scholarship offer during the subsequent year of entry.
Scholarships are available for most Durham University programmes.
The following programmes will be excluded from the scholarships:
With the exception of certain taught postgraduate programmes, the Scholarship (tuition fee discount) covers the standard completion timescales of our programmes.
Applicants must be domiciled and have nationality of one of the following countries:
Applicants must be completely self-funding and international fee payers only in order to be eligible for this tuition fee discount. Where fees are paid by an employer, private provider, government body or you are in receipt of another Durham University scholarship (e.g. Team Durham), applicants will not be considered for a scholarship. Failure to disclose external funding will invalidate any scholarship offering. Please note, this does not include the Postgraduate Master’s Loan.
Applicants must be willing to participate and cooperate in marketing and communications activities (Scholarship Commitments) for their Faculty/Durham University. This may include testimonials and public relations opportunities, as well as being involved in and attending Open Events, Webinars or being a class representative.
Scholars who withdraw from their Scholarship Commitments or from the University will have all future scholarship discounts cancelled.
Scholars who suspend their Scholarship Commitments or academic studies will have all future scholarship discounts cancelled. Please note that only under exceptional circumstances e.g. medical reasons, and at the sole discretion of the Faculty Executive Dean, approval may be given for discounts to recommence after suspended studies continue.
To be considered for one of the Undergraduate or Postgraduate Taught Durham University International Scholarships (tuition fee discounts) for 2023 entry, applicants must:
No separate application is required. Once an offer of a place is made to an applicant, they will automatically be considered for a scholarship without the need for a separate application process to be completed.
Only successful candidates will be notified of scholarship (tuition fee discount) decisions.
Scholarship (tuition fee discount) decisions are at the discretion of the International Office and all decisions are final.
There is no cash alternative to be offered if a place on the programme is not taken up.
