We are looking for alumni from our postgraduate taught programmes in the Arts and Humanities to take part in a careers session for new postgraduates. At this point in their journeys as new postgraduates, many of our students will be uncertain about their future career pathways. Many are also new to the university and are yet to meet fellow students. The aim of the careers session is twofold – to introduce our new postgraduates to real world examples of the range of careers open to them and to get our students talking to each other about the transferable skills they will gain as postgraduate Arts and Humanities students.

It would be great to have alumni from across our postgraduate taught programmes to talk about their career pathways and how the skills they gained in their degree help in the world of work. We want to get students talking to each other, so part of the session will involve a problem-solving activity. It would be fantastic to have real-world challenges from the workplace for our students to workshop, so we would also like our alumni to give us some case-studies of workplace challenges that they encountered. The session is taking place on Wednesday October 7 2026, from 2pm-4pm. We would like as much input from our alumni as possible, so you can join us in person or online, for some or all of the session. We will work around your schedule. If you cannot make the session but have an interesting case-study for our students to workshop, we would also love to hear from you.
