The Global Studies Centre (GSC) is Durham University Business School's hub for internationally focused research and research-led education. We bring together scholars who seek to advance understanding of how firms, institutions, and societies respond to the opportunities and challenges of an increasingly interconnected world.

Our members play a leading role in delivering Durham University's globally recognised MSc International Business programme while conducting research that addresses some of the most pressing issues facing business and society. Our research spans Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Europe, and North America, with particular strengths in international business, emerging markets, global strategy, sustainability, innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation.

Through rigorous scholarship, international collaboration, and engagement with businesses and policymakers, we generate knowledge that informs both theory and practice while contributing to solutions for major global challenges.

Our members undertake research in the following areas: Africa and Emerging Economies, Latin America and the Global South, the Middle East and Global Development, Europe and North America.
