This is a small quiet space, booked out for twice daily prayer slots throughout the year for the Islamic Society and for nearby staff and students. It can be booked by other faith groups and is otherwise open access for any form of quiet reflection.
We host the University's only kosher kitchen, which supports the Jewish Sabbath meals and other festivals. Jewish Sabbath meals, organised by the Durham Jewish Students and Staff Society and sponsored by Hillel. The kosher kitchen means that all catering will conform to Jewish dietary law concerning food and its preparation. The facilities allow the Jewish Society to have a dedicated space to use for Friday night dinners as well as other events including speakers, film nights and festival celebrations.
We have an intercultural dialogue forum which explores issues of faith/humanism, cultural expression and ethics, with several events each term.
