Congratulations on your offer to study Anthropology at Durham University! We are very much looking forward to meeting you. On the day, you will get a sense of what it would be like to study Anthropology with us and the unique opportunities this would offer you. You will get the chance to meet students and staff and ask us any questions about the programmes and department that you wish to. Scroll down for a schedule of activities and further information about what you can expect during the Post-offer Visit Day.
We are one of the largest Anthropology departments in the UK and also one of the broadest – we study humanity in all its diversity, both biological and cultural. You would be taught by enthusiastic, compassionate staff who are active researchers and often leading experts in their field. We place a strong emphasis on transferable academic and research skills, including a funded residential fieldwork module at one of a choice of European sites or a virtual alternative.
We are hosting three in-person Post-offer Visit Days in 2024, on Wednesday 14th February, Wednesday 20th March and Saturday 27th April.
Academic activities will run from 13:30 – 16:30 as follows:

We will try our best to accommodate guests of offer-holders in the academic activities, although the rooms for the taster sessions have smaller capacities and so we may have to limit these to offer-holders depending on final numbers. Of course, if you have a specific need to have a guest with you (e.g. due to a disability) then we will accommodate your guest in all sessions.
