The Anthropology Department at Durham is sorry to announce the death of Dr Wendy Dirks, a dearly loved colleague and friend.
Wendy was a biological anthropologist and vertebrate palaeontologist specialising in dental development and life history evolution as well as the incorporation of trace elements into dental hard tissues. She held a PhD in Anthropology from New York University, and joined our department as an honorary research fellow when she retired from Newcastle Dental School. She was a keen member of our Primatology group and the Evolutionary Anthropology Research Group. She will be greatly missed.
Her work is available here.
