Why study Anthropology at Durham?

Studying Anthropology encourages you to think about our world from completely new perspectives. Our anthropology degrees introduce you to the comparative and evolutionary study of humans and draw on a range of social, cultural and biological approaches. Our teaching is research-led and places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary perspectives. We are the only UK Anthropology Department to offer a residential field course to all our students.

I have loved studying anthropology at Durham as it teaches you the skills to tackle global, contemporary human problems, through studying the past, to shape the future. The diversity of the subject is my favourite aspect of studying anthropology, I can choose what to study and learn flexibly with top experts in the subject!
