Durham project 'Exploring cultural capital in local communities' wins Emerald Publishing Interdisciplinary Research Award project for 2022/3.
Congratulations to Professor Chris Gerrard, Department of Archaeology, Durham University, Professor Chris Brown, University of Warwick, and Mr John Castling, The Auckland Project, UK, who have won a prestigious Emerald Publishing Interdisciplinary Research Award. The award is designed around the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the project seeks to build cultural capital and reduce inequality through archaeology, aligning to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
The judging panel agreed it was a great example of an interdisciplinary research project, engaging multiple stakeholder groups to achieve real impact. The teams' work will now be featured in the Real Impact Awards Showcase Book and their full story shared later this year.
