Research Dialogues was launched in 2010 and supports our PhD early career researchers in running workshops, seminars, discussion groups, lectures or research and impact activities.
Up to £500 is offered on a competitive programme to at least two Dialogues a year.
These funded opportunities provide a chance to build UK and international networks and support ECRs in developing their CV and career plans. The events can also raise awareness of and support impact activity, for example How to Build a Dam and Save Cultural Heritage (2012).
A brief summary of the topic is then be written up and posted here on the Department's website towards the end of the year.
A number of former Research Dialogues leaders now hold permanent academic and/or professional archaeological positions. Projects have also led to major publications for the leaders.
(NB. the list below shows awarded events, and variously refers to the award year and/or year of event as recorded, to provide a sense of chronology.)
