Abstract:
Beginning with a brief introduction to ARM technology and the ARM business model, this presentation looks at the evolution of mobile technology over the last 10 years and likely demands over the next decade. The discussion moves on to highlight several main technical challenges and the sorts of approaches ARM and the industry is adopting to address these. The talk then moves on to look at how mobile technology can be applied to address key societal challenges through use in other applications, creating a smarter future.
Speaker Bio
Warren East has been CEO of ARM since 2001. ARM’s innovative designs of low-power chips has led to dramatic changes within the industry. These advanced microprocessors have created significant competition for Intel and AMD. The low-power CPU’s have enabled powerful smartphones and mobile devices to begin to threaten PCs, in terms of functionality.
