Meet the RESILIENT team

The Team comprises 6 academics and 2 associated industry partners (REGIO, GruppoSismica) strongly involved in ACH seismic prevention, bringing high-quality multidisciplinary skills well-aligned with project's goals. Durham team has excellent research experience in structural/geotechnical engineering and investigating cultural heritage under environmental hazards. Turkish team specialises in gender equality, social inclusion, and community engagement, with a proven track record of successful research projects/publications (e.g., EU-Project “Enriching the Green and Blue Transition Research and Training Network by Working Together through the New European Research Area”). Dr. Şenol Balaban, from METU’s Disaster Management Implementation and Research Center, brings expertise in GIS techniques, urban planning, and disaster risk management.

An Advisory Board of experts in Architectural Cultural Heritage (ACH) preservation (prof Lourenço, Minho University), humanities (prof Gasper, Durham History Department), and architecture (prof Resuloglu, Atilim School of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture) will support the team throughout the entire project’s duration.
