The opportunities to engage with employers provided by both the university and student-run societies allowed me to connect with many great firms and expand my network. Furthermore, the opportunity to do a Year Abroad added an international element to my degree and allowed me to develop a wide range of personal skills that helped set me apart from other graduates.

As a first-generation student from a disadvantaged background, I felt well supported by Durham Law School and the wider university especially through programmes such as the Clyde & Co Book Scheme and the Employability Fund, which both allowed me to fully engage with my studies and attend internships and firm events with no financial burden.

I will join Clifford Chance as a trainee solicitor in 2027.

My advice to those joining Durham is to take all the opportunities given to you and spend this time building your network because you never know where your course-mates will end up in a few years.
