Studying Law at Durham gave me opportunities and advantages that went far beyond the classroom. My degree gave me access to Durham Law Societies, which provided opportunities to engage with top firms in the profession and build skills beyond my studies.

Durham also gave me the chance to take part in a wide range of extracurricular activities, including managing the Grey College bar and rowing for the university’s boat club. These experiences complemented my studies and built on the skills and confidence I gained during my time at university.

The practical focus of the Durham Law programme helped me to develop a problem-solving mindset that I have carried into applications and interviews. I also benefited from close relationships with the teaching team, whose support and references were invaluable as I took the next steps towards employment.

I graduated with a First-Class degree in Law and am headed to Freshfields to kick off my legal career (one of the UK’s leading law firms). For anyone considering studying Law at Durham, my advice is simple: you will have the time of your life!
