RELISH, a Horizon Europe project led at Durham by Professor Rosi Song, invites students and the wider community to contribute to research on European food cultures through three short online surveys exploring habits, heritage, and future perspectives.

Professor Rosi Song (Hispanic Studies, Durham University) is coordinating RELISH, a Horizon Europe–funded research project that explores European food cultures, heritage, and sustainability, with a particular focus on the perspectives of young people.

As part of the project, the RELISH research team is inviting students and members of the wider community to take part in three online surveys designed to capture views on food habits, cultural traditions, and visions of the future. While responses from university-aged participants (18+) are especially encouraged, anyone who has lived in Europe for at least three months is welcome to participate.

The surveys

Participants may choose to complete one, two, or all three surveys:

All surveys have received full ethics approval, with further details available on the individual survey pages.

Why take part

By completing one or more of these short surveys, participants will contribute directly to a major European research initiative examining how food and culture are experienced, valued, and imagined by young people across Europe.

Responses will help inform the project’s research findings, educational resources, and public engagement activities, developed in collaboration with partners across the EU.

Get involved

Students, staff, and members of the wider community are warmly invited to take part and to share the surveys within their networks. The surveys may also be used as a stimulus for discussion or reflection in teaching and learning contexts, particularly within language and culture modules.

Further information about the RELISH project and its European partners is available at relisheu.org and on the Horizon Europe project page.
