Ekmeles release recording of James Weeks’ Primo Libro

Scored for 6 solo voices, the 18-minute piece uses the 31-division microtonal scale of the 16^th-century theorist Nicola Vicentino to create an arresting juxtaposition of ancient and modern aesthetic worlds. Since its composition in 2016 the work has been performed in the US and Estonia and was recorded in New York in Summer 2023.
