Students who cannot find an appropriate language level through the Languages for All extra-curricular provision, or who wish to continue their language learning within the credit-bearing framework but cannot allocate additional credits due to programme restrictions, may request to take a credit-bearing language module on a non-credit basis, subject to availability.

Benefits of taking a credit-bearing module on a non-credit basis

This option enables students to maintain continuity in their language learning journey, access structured teaching and high-quality resources, and engage with peers in an academic setting. This option is particularly valuable for students seeking to consolidate advanced language skills or prepare for the future professional or academic use of the language without the constraints of credit allocation.

  • The fee for this option is £480 per academic year.
  • Students need to ensure that they are available for all contact hours of the module.
