Course Format

The Languages For All programme comprises of a series of non-credit-bearing language courses open to Durham University students and staff as well as members of the public. We offer a series of evening courses in up to 16 languages from beginners to higher advanced level. Courses run with start dates in January, April and October. Please see below for details of course availability at each point in the year.

While we are committed to providing language courses, these are offered based on the resources available and may be subject to change.

Key information about our courses

Duration: 9 weeks | One 2-hour evening class per week.
Delivery mode: In most languages we offer a choice of in-person or online study. 
Fees: £175 (internal rate for Durham University students and staff members) | £195 (external rate)

Our courses allow learners to study in short blocks, providing flexibility to study around other commitments. Each level is broken down into two 'steps'. For example, to complete Beginners level, a learner would study Beginners Step 1 followed by Beginners Step 2 the next term (or at a later date if more convenient).
