The 2025 Early Career and Postgraduate Conference will focus on Catholic Studies and Catholic Theology.
Early Career and Postgraduate Conference 2025
The Early Career Conference is a chance for postgraduate students and other early career researchers to meet and to present their research in a collegial environment.
This one-day conference will focus on Catholic Theology and Catholic Studies, including: constructive, historical, practical, pastoral, or political theology; Catholic Social Thought and Practice; the history of Catholicism; Lived Catholicism; and Catholicism, literature, and the arts.
Call for Papers
The call for papers is now open.
We welcome papers from postgraduate students and other early career scholars interested in theology and religion from multiple disciplines in the humanities and the social sciences.

Accommodation
Delegates are asked to book their own accommodation, as required, direct with hotels. Various accommodation is available in Durham City. Some suggestions are available here:
Suggestions for accommodation in Durham - Early Career Conference
Please note that all car parks in the vicinity are Durham University property and require a staff or student permit to park. The Howlands Park and Ride (7am - 7pm) is nearby, but that is solely for users of the PR2 bus services into Durham, and fines are issued for non-compliance.
There is a bus stop on South Road outside the campus, with frequent bus services into Durham city centre and towards the railway station.
