General points when applying to the awards
- Due to limited funding available for 2027-28, awards will contribute towards tuition fees only; support cannot be given towards living costs. Applicants should demonstrate their ability to meet their own maintenance costs and any shortfall in tuition fees.
- Applicants may be considered for any scholarship for which they meet the relevant criteria, including other suitable awards that become available.
- Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. All eligible applications will be considered carefully, taking account of the information provided in the scholarship application.
- International students are welcome to apply, but where awards are limited to the UK/Home tuition-fee rate, international students, if successful, would need to fund the balance of their tuition fees from another source.
- Awards described as ‘one-year, renewable’ do not guarantee funding for future years of study. However, the CCS Scholarships Committee will give priority, where possible, to students who have already been in receipt of a CCS Scholarship during the previous academic year and who have at least one further year of study. Further awards are subject both to sufficient funds being available and to a satisfactory progress report being received from the student’s primary supervisor or module convenor.
- Applicants must provide full and accurate information about their financial circumstances and notify the CCS Manager of any relevant changes or other financial assistance received after submitting an application or during the period of an award. Additional financial assistance may result in the CCS award being reduced or, in exceptional circumstances, withdrawn. Failure to declare any such information will automatically carry the penalty of total cancellation of any CCS Scholarship award.
