The Centre for Sustainable Development Law & Policy, in collaboration with ECO DU, Greenspace, Durham Climate Society, and the Palaeontological Society, warmly invites you to a COP30 debrief event on 18 March at 8pm, held in Durham Castle, Great Hall.

Continuing our tradition of post-COP reflections, we welcome undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as members of the local community, to hear directly from the University’s COP30 delegation.

We are delighted to announce that the event will open with remarks from the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global), Professor Claire O’Malley, followed by short presentations and a panel discussion on the state of global climate negotiations and action in the wake of COP30.

Together, we will unpack key takeaways from the negotiations, highlight grounds for optimism, and explore opportunities for action to protect the planet for future generations.
