Conversation Topic: Autoethnography, 18th March 2026, 1100-1230!
This Methods Café session introduces autoethnography, a qualitative research approach that uses the researcher’s own experiences as a lens to explore wider social, cultural, and political phenomena. The session will discuss how personal narratives can generate analytical insight, while also considering key methodological issues such as reflexivity, ethics, and the relationship between the personal and the social. Participants will gain an overview of when and how autoethnography can be used within social research.
This Café conversation will be in-person!
All PGR/PGT Students and all DU Staff welcome!
