DRMC Week, 11-14 May 2026. Please come along and support a week of Methods - all week long!!

Following the success of DRMC Week in 2024 we have brought it back for 2026. The week will include:
 
Monday 11th May
  • 1.00pm - Statistics Seminar (supported by LMS) with Professor Narayanaswamy Balakrishnan, a Professor in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics from McMaster University, Ontario, Canada. Venue - Room MCS2068, Department of Mathematical Sciences.
Tuesday 12th May
  • 10.30am - DRMC Visual Methods and Media Panel - "How can scholars harness visual arts, media, and methods?"  Venue - Room 418, Bar Lounge, Mill Hill Lane. (Please register for this event)
  • 12.00pm - Lunch
  • 2.00pm - ABM Presentation - "Understanding spatial behaviour and crime: An agent-based modelling perspective" with Professor Liz Groff, Professor Emerita at Temple University, Philadelphia. Venue - Room 418, Bar Lounge, Mill Hill Lane.  (Please register for this event)
Wednesday 13th May
  • 10.30am - DRMC Symposium - "Being critical about conducting critical research: a methodological exploration" by Dr Mark Murphy, University of Glasgow and Dr Cristina Costa, Durham University. Venue - Room 418, Bar Lounge, Mill Hill Lane.  (Please register for this event)

Thursday 14th May
  • 5.00pm - Christine Merrell Annual Methods Lecture - "Large Language Models and the Future of Qualitative Research", by Professor Susan Halford, University of Bristol, & Professor Leslie Carr, University of Southampton. Venue - Elvet Riverside, Room ER142, followed by a drinks reception at Delta Hotels Durham Royal County Hotel.  (Please register for this event)
