Biography
I am currently a PhD student in the Philosophy Department, where my research is supported by an AHRC Northern Bridge Doctoral Award. I received my BA in Philosophy from Durham in 2023, before completing my Research Masters in Philosophy at KU Leuven, Belgium in 2025.
My research is broadly centred on the dangers of techno-optimist narratives in public environmentalism. To this end, I engage with a wide range of issues in environmental philosophy, phenomenology, and post-Kantian philosophy to examine techno-optimism’s complicity in modernity, the ways in which it limits our ethical and political imagination, and how we might twist free from its omnipresent grasp.
More broadly, I have interests across phenomenology, environmental philosophy, and the philosophy of religion; particularly in the phenomenology of embodiment and its significance for understanding the environmental, ethical, and religious implications of the growing cultural interest in post- and trans-humanism.
