Research interests

  • Kirsty’s research interests span sport and exercise science, public health and nutrition, with a particular focus on translational mixed-methods research. She is interested in the development, acceptability and feasibility of nutrition and health interventions, including how potential interventions are perceived by their intended users and how they can be implemented effectively in real-world settings. Her work includes research on children’s hydration, cognition and health behaviours, as well as the acceptability of dairy-based nutritional interventions among women with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. She is particularly interested in using stakeholder perspectives to ensure that research is relevant, practical and capable of informing policy and practice.
