Biography
For my Master’s project in Stefan Przyborski’s lab, I am working on bioengineering innovative, fully characterised full-thickness skin tissue models that are free of animal-derived materials. These models are designed to replicate various ages and pigmentation levels, representing a broad range of skin types. I will be examining the effects of UV radiation on the models, and a key aspect of my research will include in-vitro testing of a novel synthetic retinoid, which has shown potential effects on skin. These skin models will be used for cosmetic testing, namely of products developed by Procter & Gamble. The aim of this research is to contribute to the development of advanced skin models for studying skin health and disease, while also reducing reliance on animal testing in the pharmaceutical industry.
