Biography
I completed my BA in Literae Humaniores at the University of Oxford (2021-2025), specialising in Latin, Roman History and Roman Archaeology.
My research project is focused on virginity and sexual renunciation in early Christianity, specifically the possible use of female virginity as a means of social and cultural resistance. I am interested in the role played by the Virgin Mary in early Christian discourse, and how her character was used as a way to both encourage and discourage female sexual renunciation in the Roman Empire.
