Biography

Yan Xin Ng is a PhD candidate in the Department of Music at Durham University, specialising in Korean music and dance practices in the United Kingdom.

Her research draws on ethnographic fieldwork with groups including Durham P’ungmul Society, Cambridge Samulnori, and K-pop dance communities across Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, and Cambridge. Through this work, she examines processes of learning, participation, and the transmission of performance practices within community settings.
