Find out how Careers & Enterprise supports graduates and how you can engage with our current students.

PhD and Master of Research (MRes) graduates

Durham University PhD and MRes graduates can access resources and support from Careers & Enterprise.  Please register as a graduate on CareersConnect using your personal, rather than University email address.  To book a 1:1 appointment with our Postgraduate Research Careers Adviser, please contact us to arrange.

Graduate Registration

To access our support and resources, you'll need to register as a graduate user.  You can do this through CareersConnect.  Please register with your personal, rather than University email address.  If you have any problems with your registration, please contact us.

One-to-One Support

We offer in-person and online appointments with our Careers Advisers where you can discuss your career plans, get feedback on applications and CVs, assessment centre and interview support, or discuss any other careers related questions you have.

If you would like to make an appointment, please contact us to check availability.

Business Start-up Support

If you're interested in setting up your own business or being self-employed, you can access our specialist start-up support services.  This includes start-up coaching sessions, workshops, funding opportunities, competitions, and networking events.  Our Durham Venture School programme offers stipends, investment opportunities and mentoring.

Graduate Destinations

Researching the career destinations of recent graduates can be useful for current, and prospective students, helping them make informed choices about what they can do with their degree.

Six months after graduation you'll be contacted by the Careers & Enterprise Centre to complete the Durham Institutional Destination Survey.

Fifteen months after graduation you will be contacted by HESA to ask you to complete the Graduate Outcomes Survey.  This is a national survey capturing the perspectives and current status of graduates.

Please complete these surveys, to help support current and future students.

Supporting Future Graduates

If you would like to share your experience and an insight into your career with current students, we welcome offers from alumni wishing to take part in careers events.  If your employer would like to recruit Durham students and graduates for work experience, placements, or graduate roles, please get in touch with our Employer Services Team.

Alternative Support
