DU Exclusive Supported Recruitment

DU Exclusive Supported Recruitment, also referred to as DU Exclusives, is a free opportunity advertisement programme run by Careers & Enterprise aimed to supporting organisations looking to exclusively recruit students and graduates from Durham University.

As part of the programme, Careers & Enterprise provides an enhanced level of guidance, resource, and promotion and marketing, highlighting your opportunities to our exceptional students and alumni. By participating in the programme, organisations receive customisable business support throughout the recruitment process, including:

  • recruitment advice from industry experts within the department;
  • access to exceptional resources, such as our Inclusive Recruitment Toolkit;
  • premium opportunity promotion and advertising; and,
  • management of various areas of recruitment, such as application collection and organisation of interview space on-campus.

Our programme elevates your opportunity and organisation's profile, increasing brand awareness and improving chances of recruitment success.

If you are interested in participating in the programme or if you have any queries, please contact the Employer Services team at employers@durham.ac.uk.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is this a funded scheme?

No, there is no funding attached to the DU Exclusive Supported Recruitment programme. There are other schemes operated by Durham University Careers & Enterprise that may be funded. For more information about these, please see Tailored Recruitment Services and Funded Projects.

Is there support available for employers from the programme post-recruitment?

As the DU Exclusive Supported Recruitment programme is an opportunity advertisement programme, most of the support provided by Careers & Enterprise surrounds the recruitment process. Our Inclusive Recruitment Toolkit offers some insight and advice on onboarding best practices, but support within this programme is limited to the recruitment process.

This also means Durham University is unable to support in managing salaries or stipends to recruited individuals on behalf of the organisation. (For opportunities that are also part of funded schemes, this may be different, and so please ask the member of staff organising the funded scheme if this is the case.)

What advertising and promotion support is included in the DU Exclusive Supported Recruitment programme?

All opportunities advertised to students are uploaded to our Vacancy Advertising Portal, but DU Exclusive opportunities are uploaded to a separate section of the platform that highlights them to students and alumni. Beyond the Vacancy Advertising Portal, DU Exclusive opportunities are advertised through all our Digital Marketing channels, at no cost.
