Funding to support groups or individuals in extra-curricular interests and personal development in the Arts.
A significant amount of the funding available to students to support their extra-curricular interests and personal development has been made possible by the generous donations of the University's Alumni. To ensure that this support continues in the future current students are needed to work on the Annual Giving Programme telephone fundraising campaign. If you would be interested in giving your time to help future students and in return gain some valuable experience as well as financial incentives, please contact the Development and Alumni Relations Office.
I am a Classics student, but I aspire to work as a TV producer after I graduate. Having gained experience of film-making with the Durham Student Film Society (of which I am Vice President) I founded Durham Student TV, a society that aims to produce TV programmes made by students, for students. Our funding from the Arts Management Fund allowed us to buy a camera to make these videos, without which this enterprise would not have been able to come to its successful fruition.
