EcoCampus is the environmental management scheme for higher and further education. Durham has held platinum status since December 2020. This was renewed in 2021, 2022, 2023 and most recently, in May 2025 following external audits.
The platinum award conforms with the requirements of the international environmental management system standard ISO 14001. The Scheme provides training, consultancy, e-learning and software combined with third party verification via a UKAS accredited certification body.
