About this course

This course explores how all businesses are changing as significant technological change becomes an elementary driver to all markets and products. This course will explore how Digital Development Processes, Digital Business Models, BlockChain, AI, Robotics, or VR will reshape our roles as owners, or managers in the near term.

 

On this course you will learn how to: 

  • Understand key digital transformation frameworks.
  • Develop strategies to integrate AI, BlockChain, Robotics, or VR into our products/services.
  • Lead Organizational Change to embrace Digital Transformations before they disrupt our products/services.
  • Measure the Change Impact and Return of Invest of the Digital Transformation.

 

Venue and experience

The programme will be held at Durham University Business School’s state-of-the-art Waterside Building, offering modern teaching spaces and an inspiring learning environment. Lunch will be included across all days, allowing participants to focus fully on learning and networking.

Dr Jens Schiefele, Honorary Professor

Jens is an experienced global leader of research and software development teams of 100+ people. He has a high interest in establishing product vision based on identified customer needs, and enjoys turning vision into product and solution innovations. His Key focus is on combining business development, software, technology, and change management to establish new products, organizations, and digital transformation. 

Jens holds an Aerospace PhD and master’s degrees in computer science and business. He teaches three master level Aerospace classes, and has published 50+ papers, holds 8+ patents, and has participated in 10 different ICAO, RTCA, ARINC, and EUROCAE industry standards.

For 20+ years, Jens was Director Research at Jeppesen and Managing Director for Boeing in Germany. He is honorary Prof. at TU-Darmstadt and Durham University.

 

Dr Marc LaunerDr Marc Launer headshot

Dr Marc Launer is a seasoned aerospace professional with over two decades of experience at Boeing, where he has made significant contributions to aviation safety, digital transformation, and product development. He began his career in 2000, collaborating with Boeing, Jeppesen, NASA, and the Technical University of Darmstadt on the NASA Aviation Safety Program in the World-Wide Aviation Database project. Since joining Boeing directly in 2003, Dr Launer has excelled as a Lead Engineer, overseeing the development of critical systems such as Data Production and Delivery Systems, Airport Moving Map Databases, Certified On-board Databases, and Fleet Management Solutions. His expertise extends to enterprise architecture and business strategy, where he has played a pivotal role in shaping organizational direction.
