Programme Online MBA
Duration Scholarship (tuition fee discount) will be applied over the two taught years of the programme.  

Eligibility

Applicants should have an outstanding academic record from a recognised and reputable institution. Applicants will be assessed through their scholarship application on their professional performance, career progression, leadership potential, clear intent for the Online MBA and the relevant criteria for each award.
Global and UK Leadership Scholarships
Applications will be assessed on:
  • Significant leadership experience, including responsibility for people, teams, projects, organisations or initiatives.
  • Strong professional achievement, including career progression, performance and impact.
  • Strategic thinking and future potential, demonstrated through problem-solving, effective decision-making, entrepreneurial activity or significant projects and organisational change.
  • Potential to make a strong contribution to the MBA cohort through professional experience, diverse perspectives, community engagement or industry impact.
Global Opportunity Scholarship
Applications will be assessed on:
  • Strong professional achievement and international career potential, including experience working across markets, cultures or multinational organisations.
  • The ability to bring diverse international perspectives to the MBA cohort.
  • Leadership experience and potential within their organisation, industry or community.
  • Potential to act as a positive ambassador for Durham in their home country and region.
Social Impact Scholarship
Applications will be assessed on:
  • A commitment to creating positive social or environmental impact.
  • Experience in areas such as sustainability, ESG, social enterprise, the public sector, non-profit organisations or community leadership.
  • Relevant skills and experience in areas such as energy transition, climate finance and sustainable operations.
  • Clear plans to use the MBA to further positive change.
Applicants must: 

Be fully self-funded to be eligible for this tuition fee discount. Applicants whose fees are paid by an employer, private provider or government body, or who receive another Durham University tuition fee discount (e.g. Inspiring Excellence or Team Durham), will not be considered for a scholarship. Failure to disclose external funding will invalidate any scholarship award.

 

This does not include funding received through a UK government postgraduate student loan.

    Complete the Durham Online MBA Scholarship Application in full and hold a conditional or unconditional offer for the Online MBA programme by the relevant application deadline. No awards will be made before the round closing dates.

     

    Round 1: Submit your application by 8 January 2027
    Round 2: Submit your application by 5 March 2027

     

    All scholarship application deadlines are 23:59 (GMT) on the dates stated above. 

     

    As part of the application, you can indicate which scholarship(s) you wish to apply for. You will be considered for all awards for which you meet the eligibility criteria.

     

    Only successful candidates will be notified by email within 15 working days of the application deadline

  3. Terms and Conditions

    Applicants who are unsuccessful in Round 1 will not be automatically considered in Round 2 and must submit a new application to be considered in the next round.

     

    Scholarships are not transferable or deferrable. They are valid only for use by the scholarship winner in the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.

     

    Scholarship decisions are at the discretion of the School and all decisions are final. 

     

    There is no cash alternative if a place on the programme is not taken up.
