Hi everyone, I’m Max, the MCR president this year, which means that I represent postgrad students at Trevelyan. Whether you are continuing at Durham following undergrad studies, or are new to the university, the MCR is a group which supports students through academic and extracurricular events. We have lots planned for welcome week, which is the perfect time to meet fellow postgrad students. Throughout the year we will host events including a big inter-MCR formal, research events, trips around the local area, and much more. The MCR remains active throughout the year with regular social events. I encourage everyone to get involved and to make the most of the opportunities available.
Trevelyan is a small, progressive college renowned for its friendliness - and its distinctive hexagonal architecture. Trevelyan encourages every student to venture out of their comfort zone and be the best they can be, promoting an environment of support, inclusion, and curiosity.

Get ready for university life, this guide is to help you prepare for your first few weeks, meet fellow freshers and find your way around.
One of the best things about Durham's collegiate system is the number of opportunities to get involved with. As well as the University-level activities that you would get at any university, at Durham you also have College-level activities. This is where Trevelyan excels.
The Timetable has been designed so College events don’t clash with any of your academic departmental events, but offer you lots of opportunities to meet your fellow Freshers, find your way around and settle into student life.
