We are delighted to continue our association with one of Europe's finest chamber orchestras, in the first of three programmes for our 2026-27 season. This concert, directed by dynamic violinist Maria Włoszczowska, shows two sides of Brahms' compositional personality. His Clarinet Quintet is, on the surface, lush and beautiful, with some beautiful song-like tunes. But the overall impression is of something darker, more brooding, yearning. The Serenade is all smiles though – warm, outgoing and optimistic.
