Help and Information

We don’t expect you to know everything about the Library and there are no silly questions – we want to hear from you so we can help you in any way that we can.

You can also search our FAQs for answers to your questions.

Live chat service

You can contact us online through our 24/7 live chat service with any queries about University Library and Collections and our services.

Between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, our live chat is run by Durham University Library staff. Outside these hours, the service is run by staff from libraries around the world so you can ask a question at any time of day or night. They won’t have access to your library account, but any queries they can’t answer will be referred to our staff so we can get back to you the following day.

Email

You can email library@durham.ac.uk with any queries you have. We monitor and respond to email queries Monday to Friday between 9am-5pm.
