Durham Global Awards 2024: Nominations are now open!
Following the success of the inaugural Durham Global Week and Awards in March 2023, we are back with 11 award categories this year to recognise those who have made outstanding achievements to Durham's global reputation and partnerships.

Durham Global Awards 2023 winners
The nominations we received reflected both individual and team contributions to our cultural diversity and the impact made by projects, partnerships and collaborations on a global level.
Global Curriculum Award
Mike, Kristen, Robin, Becky, Mark, Dan and Karen won the Global Curriculum Award for their extensive work on developing a timely, innovative and world-leading curriculum.
Local to Global Award
Dr Penny Johnson won the Local to Global Award for building partnerships with institutions in Galicia and promoting languages to students in Durham secondary schools.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Mary Fender won the Lifetime Achievement Award for over 20 years of service, leading and managing the Languages for All programme.
Global Professional Services Award
Gill Ramsay was awarded the Global Professional Services Award for leading on the development of international collections-centred partnerships with the Oriental Museum.
Global Volunteering Award
Alexandra Hart won the Global Volunteering Award for creating Tutor for Ukraine, a scheme that matches Ukrainian refugees with volunteer English tutors.
Global Student Experience Award
Durham University Student Volunteering and Outreach (DUSVO) won the Global Student Experience Award for helping students learn about other cultures through volunteering.
International Partnership Award
Dr Markian Prokopovych won the International Partnership Award for his extensive work developing partnerships and highlighting the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Respect, Fairness and Equity Award
Katie Stobbs won the Respect, Fairness and Equity Award for her work at Stephenson College, inspiring students to develop a global perspective.
