COP31 Durham Delegation Call for Expressions of Interest
We welcome expressions of interest from staff and students interested in joining the Durham Delegation at COP31 in Antalya, Turkey this year. Please submit your expression of interest by the 3rd July 2026.
The COP Steering Group is an informal group within the Centre for Sustainable Development Law and Policy (CSDLP). It coordinates Durham University’s participation in UNFCCC processes and meetings. Since 2021, Durham University has held observer status.
This enables us to:
- make submissions to the UNFCCC
- apply to host side events
- participate in exhibitions
Participation is managed by the UNFCCC Secretariat through the allocation of badges. We welcome expressions of interest from Durham University staff and students who would like to participate in COP31.
How to apply:
To be considered for the COP31 Durham delegation, please submit a statement (maximum 500 words) outlining:
- the COP event or activity you wish to attend
- your rationale for attending
- the resources available to support your participation
Please note:
- we are unable to provide funding directly
- we can support applications for external funding
- badge numbers are limited
In previous years, we have secured additional badges through partner organisations. This has enabled a broad representation of expertise across the delegation.
Deadline
Please submit your expression of interest by the 3 July 2026. Please send to csdlp@durham.ac.uk and owen.d.boyle@durham.ac.uk.
