Alumni Society
We are always delighted to hear from our alumni. If you studied with us, let us know what you are doing! We have an Alumni Facebook Group just for you, just send a request to join. Or you can email us with your news; and, of course, if you are ever back in Durham, do drop in!
Among our many distinguished alumni: Robert Swan was the first man to walk to both poles, and a leading environmentalist. He studied Ancient History in Durham, from 1976-1979. Jenny Willott, who studied Classics at Durham, was MP for Cardiff Central between 2005 and 2015. (She made headlines when she resigned as Chris Huhne’s Parliamentary Aide over the issue of University tuition fees.)
Support
We're very grateful to our many alumni who have generously supported our Department's work. Thanks to their generosity we’ve been able to develop our outreach and community engagement work in some really exciting ways - and are now working on building up our Jenkinson-Rhodes scholarship fund, for future postgraduates. If you would like to support us by making a donation, you can do so by using this secure website.
