Durham Centre for Academic Development (DCAD)
DCAD’s Academic Excellence Team are here to support all staff and discuss any aspect of your teaching and student learning. We offer a wide range of support, from informal chats to full courses and cover a broad range of topics.
Working in collaboration with the Researcher Development team in DCAD, offers a range of development opportunities for research students. Part of these sessions is a focus on language choices. Some workshops may therefore be more suitable for international researchers who wish to refine their understanding of academic communication.
Postgraduate Research (PGR) students who are employed to undertake paid teaching activity at the University are required to complete the PGR Teaching Induction programme. This has been mandatory at Durham since 2005/6 and is a requirement of the QAA Code of Practice.
