The Matariki Summer Research Programme (SURP) supports students from Queen's University (Canada) and Durham University (UK) to complete an 8 to 14-week research internship at the partner abroad during the summer of 2025. Host universities will provide a list of supervisors who already have experience conducting research with international students and are willing to engage in the MNU Summer Research Fellowships, along with project titles a description of each project. Students will be actively engaged in research under the supervision of a faculty member and are expected to work full-time hours at 35hrs/week for a typical duration of 12 weeks from May and August. Any revision to this timeline (with 8 weeks being the minimum and 14 weeks the minimum duration) must be approved by the supervisor and will be reflected in the value of the fellowship.
