Institution-wide Agreements

The University has a number of inter-institutional agreements with long-established European multidisciplinary universities of a high international standard. These agreements are in addition to DU department to EU department specific agreements. Before applying, students must check on the partners' websites that they offer suitable modules / courses for their Durham degree subject. Durham has two sets of institution-wide agreements. To apply please use the standard European application process. Please be aware that places at these institutions are more competitive than under European Departmental Agreements. If demand for places at either the institution-wide or Coimbra SEN partners (below) exceeds the quota number of places available, places will be allocated by a University panel based on grades and the application materials provided.

Durham has one general European / Erasmus+ institution-wide agreements. On the host section of the European application form, please indicate "institution-wide" when choosing an institution-wide partner:

Coimbra Group Student Exchange Network (SEN) institution-wide agreements

Durham is also member of the Coimbra Group (CG) Student Exchange Network (SEN), giving access to a further 23 European universities. Please note: the SEN is still an exchange through the European framework. On the host section of the European application form, please indicate SEN when choosing a SEN partner.
