The Oriental Museum houses one half of the important Chinese ceramic collections of British politician and diplomat Rt Hon Malcolm MacDonald. Since 2017, curators have been working with researchers in the UK and Museum of Asian Art, University of Malaya (UM) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) to research and share the story of MacDonald’s collection and its role in his international diplomacy.
Through the Matariki Network of Universities (MNU), of which Durham is a founder member, Durham collaborates with leading universities in Australia (University of Western Australia) and New Zealand (University of Otago) to advanced learning, research, and student experience.

The advice I would give to other international students thinking about completing a postgraduate degree in Durham would be to go for it and make the most out of your time here, academically and personally; it might turn out to be one of the best years in your life!
