Overview 

Kelly is an Assistant Curator at the Oriental Museum. She has extensive experience in the areas of curation, collections management and project management.

Biography

Kelly began her career working as a Collections Assistant for Kirklees Community History Service. Kelly moved to Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums where she held the roles of Documentation Officer, Collections Information Manager, and also Project Manager: North East Hub for the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage Project run by The British Library. Kelly was also joint Project Curator for the Femmer to Firmer project with Museums Northumberland.

Kelly holds a BA(Hons) in Oriental Studies (Egyptology) and an MA Museum Studies. Committed to ongoing learning, Kelly has also studied towards the Association for Project Management (APM) qualification, as well as ‘Developing Your Leadership’ (through Museums Galleries Scotland, ILM accredited).

Kelly is a member of the Museums Association, United Kingdom Registrars Group, Egypt Exploration Society and the Museum Ethnographers Group.  She is also a trustee for Mortal Fools.
