Accommodation and Catering

Accommodation

Collingwood offers two types of accommodation both designed to provide a comfortable and well-equipped space for study and daily life:

  • Standard bedrooms are study bedrooms with a sink. On each corridor, up to ten students share two separate toilets and two separate shower rooms.
  • En-suite bedrooms are study bedrooms with a private bathroom, including a shower, toilet and sink.

All rooms are furnished to a consistent standard, including a bed with under-bed storage, shelving, wardrobe and drawers, a desk with chair and lamp and a notice board.

All first-year students are guaranteed accommodation within their college. Many students choose to live in during their first year and move into private accommodation in later years, though a number return to college in their final year. Those living out remain fully part of the Collingwood community and continue to use college facilities, including social, sport and creative spaces.

Catering

Collingwood is a fully catered college. Students living in college receive three meals a day, seven days a week, included within the residence fee during term time.

Menus are varied and designed to accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements, with vegetarian and vegan options available at every meal. Meal times are long making it easy to fit meals around academic and extracurricular commitments, and if you are due to miss a meal, options such as a late tea or a packed meal are available.

Each corridor includes a shared pantry with a fridge, kettle, sink, toaster and microwave for use between meals.
